The essence of the most authentic Mediterranean

There is a place where the sea blends with the mountains, where its beaches keep the essence of the wildest Mediterranean.

Porta de Mar, all the light of the Mediterranean

In the province of Castellón we enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine a year and breathe clean, pollution-free air.

Porta de Mar is located in an enclave marked by nature, at the foot of the Desert de les Palmes and just a few minutes from the Via Verde del Mar between Benicàssim and Oropesa, one of the most beautiful in Spa

Porta de Mar is located in one of the most special areas of the Mediterranean coast. This corner of the province of Castellón preserves all the essence of the most authentic Mediterranean, viewing from the top of a mountain how the sun rises over the horizon on a calm sea.

A life in a natural environment

The magic of the province consists precisely in being able to see high mountains from the seaside.

A few minutes from Porta de Mar you can find the Desert de les Palmes Natural Park and a little further away is the Serra d'Irta. And if you want to discover the most special part of the province, boats leave from the port of Oropesa itself to visit the Illes Columbretes nature reserve, islands of volcanic origin which are also one of the most important nature areas in the Comunitat Valenciana.

Choosing Porta de Mar means choosing nature, but only a few minutes away from all the services a city offers you.

The Mediterranean, land of the orange blossom, is home to many species of fish, seafood, olives, fruits and vegetables that are used in the local gastronomy. Mediterranean cuisine is characterised by being healthy and well-balanced, with dishes based on olive oil, aromatic herbs and spices that improve the flavour of the food.

The real taste of a land

The province of Castellón has a gastronomy marked by its excellent product, so it is possible to enjoy traditional or avant-garde cuisine, from Kilometre Zero and based on respect for the land and its producers.

Castellón has three Michelin-starred restaurants (Cal Paradís in Vall d'Alba, Raúl Resino in Benicarló and Atalaya in Alcossebre), which are the spearhead of a generation of chefs who combine the best of the land with the gastronomic avant-garde.

Castellón also has its own gastronomic brand, Castelló Ruta de Sabor, which brings together the highest quality local producers.
